What Remains (in situ).jpg
This is a studio portrait of Jen Prior. She is sitting in a room with a single light source coming from large arched windows in a 12' tall studio space in downtown guelph. She wears a black t-shirt and denim pants. Behind her is both a vivid abstraction painting on a large easel, as well as numerous paintings on the floor which demonstrate her prolific methods of painting. The image was taken at her studio space provided by Arts Build Ontario in downtown Kitchener, Ontario.

Jen Prior paints from the place beneath thought - intuitively, urgently, from nature and the body.

Her practice spans painting, sculpture and immersive installation; work about light, motherhood, and the quiet knowledge that we are not as alone as the world keeps telling us.
